The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Production Manager to manage production operations within one of the production departments within the WestRock Lebanon, TN facility responsible for developing and managing the department strategy, supporting the objectives of the facility in order to achieve business goals.Also responsible for administering operations systems and processes to ensure the department effectively and efficiently produces product to service the needs of the facility and customer demand while leading Production Supervisors and hourly personnel within the department (including performance management, pay administration, promoting career development, and coordinating production and technical needs/duties of the department), reporting to the Plant Manager.

Responsibilities:

Aligns with and understands the needs of the Business and communicates goals

Creates and implements strategic direction and needed systems and process for production department

Manages production supervisors and associates in department

Creates, implements, and monitors work processes to achieve business objectives in terms of Operating Asset Utilization.

Creates, implements, and monitors work processes to achieve compliance to OSHA regulations, and corporate standards.

Creates, implements, and monitors metrics to identify continuous improvement needs and performance management issues.

Manages the department and procedures, documents, systems (e.g., standard work files)

Conducts performance evaluations and mentorship to the department

Actively supports employee and career development of personnel

Participates in the Plant Leadership Team; participates in or leads some initiatives on its behalf.

Relentlessly driving continuous improvements in safety, compliance, maintenance, housekeeping, and employee development.

Setting vision for the maintenance department that aligns with the facility’s strategic business objectives.

What You Need to Succeed:

Bachelor's strongly preferred – Business or Engineering

7-10 years management experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting

Proven track-record in using manufacturing management software and system (e.g., Microsoft Office) and experience in leading continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Lean, 6 Sigma, TQM, TPM, and other improvement philosophies)

Proven track-record in developing strategies to attain performance objectives along with organizational development wins & communicating effectively in writing to develop and document processes and procedures, verbally in group and one-on-one situations to lead and coach subordinates, explain company policies and resolve conflicts.
